Black Beauty & The Racial Climate

Black women believe in their own beauty. Most relate to the term “Black is Beautiful” although some feel that this statement does not fully encapsulate how they feel about their beauty. A majority of black women believe that beauty and racism are intertwined.  With issues of race and racial inequality firmly in the spotlight both in the United States and globally, black women expressed mixed emotions about the current climate.

Brand Ownership

A majority of black women say that they prefer to support black owned brands In recent weeks there has been a definitive movement towards buying black, and increased interest in knowing who popular hair and beauty brands are owned by. In light of the movement, some consumers are also reconsidering where and how they shop for beauty products.
