Get It From Her Mama: How Do Moms Manage Their Children's Hair?

Moms are hugely influential in the BPC product usage and hair and skincare routines of their children. Of course, this is true for babies and young children, but even as children grow into teens and young adults, over half of moms state their older children continue the use the same or mostly the same products that they use.

The patterns, routines, brand and product preferences established by moms during childhood are often carried through into adulthood. Three-quarters of moms agree that hair and beauty knowledge is passed down through generations, and more than half still use some of the same haircare and skincare products their mothers used.

The most important consideration for moms when choosing products for their children to use, is that is for their child’s hair type – though among young children (0-2 years) mothers are more focused on products that are gentle on their hair and/or skin.
